Today was a banner day here for L — we took the training wheels off his bike (at his request) and he did beautifully!
The day wasn’t all rosy for him, though. See this face?
I made kale chips from this week’s CSA kale and, while I really liked them, poor L was less impressed. He managed to choke down a tasting portion, though, in order to partake of a special festive dessert:
That’s strawberry/blueberry shortcake. The only thing remotely local, sadly, is that the shortcake was made with raw milk yogurt from a farm three miles from here. I’d have normally used local strawberries, but I never did get out picking in all the rain we’ve had for the past weeks.
