It’s that time of year again when CSAs start their weekly pick-ups here in New England. This year a friend and I are coordinating pick-ups for CSA veggies and raw milk and so she picked up yesterday’s veggies. Things are typically a bit light the first two or three weeks. This week we got:
Two heads of lettuce, one red and one green
One bunch of asparagus
About a pint of sugar snap peas
Two heads of green garlic
One dozen eggs
There was a special early pick-up a couple of weeks ago of two bunches of aparagus and a dozen eggs also. There was no Thursday option this year, so Mondays are CSA day. I preferred Thursday since I have more time to cook on the weekends, but this way I can fill in gaps at the town farmer’s market which is on Tuesdays.
