Today was the first mini pick-up from our CSA. It’s been a very cool spring and most of the farms in this area are running about two weeks behind. The new-to-us CSA at North Forty Farm is no exception. Earlier this week I got an e-mail that they had peas ready for us this week and to let them know if we’d like some. Yes! Yes, yes, yes!!! Even I, who am known to dislike peas in most forms, absolutely love fresh snap peas, snow peas, and even shelling peas when they’re really fresh. Yum! So the twins and I headed off this morning for our first pick-up.
I was very pleased at the organization of the pick-up and it’s a lovely small farm that’s close to home.
Today we got:
1/2 pound of snap peas
1/2 pound of snow peas
2 pounds of English shelling peas
a small bunch of sweet radishes
